Claudia Goldin, born on 14 May 1946 in New York, is an American economist, best known for her work on female labour, labour economics, income inequality, education and gender wage inequality. She is a professor at Harvard University and director of the US economic development programme at the National Bureau of Economic Research.
She was awarded the 2023 Bank of Sweden Prize in Economic Sciences in memory of Alfred Nobel for her empirical research on women's relationship to the labour market.
