Reprise économique, accès aux vaccins, aide internationale, Rabah Arezki revient sur les enjeux d’une sortie de crise sanitaire et économique pour le contient. En se basant sur l’exemple des épidémies précédentes (variole, Ebola, etc.), il suggère la levée temporaire des brevets et encourage le recours au mécanisme Covax tout en prônant une transparence de traçabilité des gouvernements africains.
Rabat Arezki constate également que le surendettement et l’impossibilité de contracter de nouveaux emprunts sont un frein à la sortie de crise.
