Résumé : |
How does the American businessman see himself? How does he interpret his role in American life? The authors of this book first examine the content of the "American Businessman Creed” and then explain it by looking not to self-interest, but to the inescapable strains and conflicts inherent in the businessman’s role in a complex society.
The American Business Creed is based upon a broad survey of the ideology revealed by public statements of business leaders, institutional advertisements of large corporations, and the literature of powerful business associations. Plagued by the standards of business success and failure, by the incompatible demands of personal of free enterprise, the businessman looks to “the creed” for answers which justify and lend meaning to his day-by-day efforts. |
