Résumé : |
The twenty-three essays in this volume have been presented to Professor A. K. Das Gupta by his pupils, colleagues and fellow economists on the Occasion of his seventieth birthday. Economic theory and problems of planning have been among Professor Das Gupta's more abiding interests. It is therefore appropriate that the papers in the volume concentrate on these fields. An extensive range is covered: demand and capital theories, welfare economics, the assumptions of neo-classical analysis, modes of production and exchange, population theory, strategies of development, the usefulness of planning models and problems of plan implementation, the relationship between growth and economic structure, fiscal, monetary and employment policies.
